Jesse Brewer, Dayspring graduate in 2009 and APSU Senior History Major, was elected Student Body President for APSU on March 30th. Brewer will be representing over 10,000 students; leading the Student Government Association; and working with University administration, staff, and faculty to better APSU. Brewer is not only involved in Student Government but has been initiated into the top honor society at APSU of Phi Kappa Phi, the leadership honorary society of Omicron Delta Kappa, and a freshmen honor society of Alpha Lambda Delta. He was chosen to be an APSU representative for the 2011-2012 book of Who’s Who Among American College Students. Brewer has also been awarded the Fred Seip, Jr. Memorial Scholarship from the History Department for his academic success. He continues as a student in the President’s Emerging Leaders’ Program while double minoring in education and leadership. Brewer plans to graduate in May 2013 hoping to return to his Alma Mater and teach high school history.
