There are many benefits associated with children learning art while they are young. Art stimulates both the left and right side of the brain. Most children decide if they are artists or not by the age of 12. And if the decision is that they are not, they quit drawing. It is our goal at Dayspring Academy to educate students as to how an Artist “Sees”. When this is understood, they can create works of art that will promote their self esteem and learn to appreciate the work of Artist throughout history.
There are studies that show that kids who make art read better and get better grades in science and mathematics. Art teaches to think openly. By teaching that there is more than one solution for a problem, art teaches kids to think creatively to solve problems.
Finally, Art nourishes the human soul, one feels good doing it. At Dayspring Academy, we want learning to be an exciting hands on experience. And it is our desire to create an atmosphere where students thrive in their surroundings.
